Positive Legacy

One World United Through Music

Positive Legacy, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, works to magnify the cultural experiences of those attending My Morning Jacket One Big Holiday. Positive Legacy’s mission inspires music fans and artists to collectively take action and build a better world. Positive Legacy creates meaningful opportunities for musicians and fans to participate in humanitarian and environmental outreach projects to support the local community.

Sunday March 4th – Event DAY 3 – 9:30am-3:30pm

Join Positive Legacy for a return visit to the Comunidad de Domingo Miaz where we will build recycling stations, paint a mural and cover up graffiti to improve the community central park area! This afternoon of interactive entertainment and volunteer work will happen alongside community members and provide the opportunity for locals and their children to see the benefits waste management, and empowering the residents to take pride in their community! During our visit we will have an educational walk through of the black water filtration system installed with help from Positive Legacy in 2012.

In the last five years Positive Legacy has donated over $50,000 to the Fuentes de Vida Project. This contributed to the construction of a natural wastewater treatment facility and a sustainable clean water system to the 500 residents in the Domingo Maiz area. After a morning of work, we will settle in for the afternoon with local music and lunch to be served by community leaders. We'll enjoy dancing and games with our hosts to conclude the Day of Service and intercultural connection. A brief educational presentation of future projects will highlight the day’s experiences before returning back to the resort for a wonderful evening of music.
